Brooklyn Beast - A Tribute To MCA

When I was 10 years old, I saved my pocket money and bought my first vinyl LP.
That album was Beastie Boys' 'Licensed To Ill'.

This was my first solo step towards engulfing myself into a life long obsession with Hip Hop culture and beyond.

Without this group, I may have never discovered the likes of Public Enemy, Run DMC, De La Soul, DJ Jazzy Jeff & so on.

Subsequently, I may have never decided to be a DJ, or embraced my life-long addiction to music, Hip Hop, Reggae, Rock & everything in-between.

I may well have dressed differently, spoken with a different dialect and thought entirely differently about the world.

This group had such a profound impact on me & on so many people I know, at a very young age. I wouldn't want it any other way. For that, I will always be grateful.

This is a 60 minute mix comprised of the variety of noises that these three MCs / musicians from NYC put out there over the past 30 or so years.

Dedicated to the memory of Adam "MCA" Yauch.
